ABOUT ROTR AMF

The Rhythm on the River Americana Music Fest, or ROTR AMF, debuts at Revolution Hall in Troy, NY on March 15, 2014.  However, the "roots" of the event date back to the Fall of 2008, with J. Peter Yakel's creation of the "Rhythm on the Ridge" (ROTR) Roots Music Festival.  The original ROTR Fest debuted in Rotterdam, NY in June 2009, at Maple Ski Ridge. Hosted by Flood Road band mates, Chris Schultz, Peter Murphy, and J. Peter Yakel, more than 20 bands took part the first year, performing Acoustic, Bluegrass, Celt, Country, and Folk style music.  ROTR Fest was held annually through June 2013, varying from 1-2 days each event.  One of the distinguishing characteristics of ROTR Fest, setting it apart from most other fests, was that it entirely spotlighted local bands and artists performing ORIGINAL music. That's how J. Peter conceptualized it; that's how the fest developed, and grew over several years.  ROTR Fest made a good mark on the music scene, and set the stage, so-to-speak, for future endeavors.

And that brings us to ROTR AMF...a natural outgrowth of the original...with the telltale letter "R" logo, comes a happy energy and excellence sure to permeate Brown's Brewery and Revolution Hall, in historic Troy, NY. ROTR AMF continues the tradition of spotlighting local bands and artists performing original music. Visitors who join us are greeted by a welcoming staff, top-notch sound, comfortable seating, delicious foods, and of course, Brown's selection of award winning beers and beverages. It's a great Collar City match up of sight, sound and very affordable entertainment wrapped up neatly for your weekend enjoyment.

We welcome you to Rhythm on the River Americana Music Fest, and hope you make this the first of many future visits with us! Thanks for your patronage!
